Papua New Guinea is a premier liveaboard destination thanks to its remote dive sites, which are best accessed by boat. Liveaboards let divers explore a wide variety of regions like Kimbe Bay, Milne Bay, Kavieng, and the Witu Islands—all known for world-class reefs, WWII wrecks, and diverse marine life. Expect everything from pygmy seahorses and frogfish to reef sharks, barracuda, and manta rays.
There are limited liveaboards in Papua New Guinea, so booking early is highly recommended.

Diving Season
Papua New Guinea offers year-round diving, but the best conditions vary by region. In general, May to November offers calm seas and great visibility across most areas. Milne Bay is ideal from October to March, while Kimbe Bay and Kavieng shine from May to June and September to December. If you’re unsure when to go, we’re happy to recommend the best timing based on your preferences.
