There are direct flights from the US to Belize from Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, and Charlotte. The dive center is located on the beachfront in San Pedro Town on Ambergris Caye.

Amigos del Mar is ideally located for easy access to some of Belize's top dive spots, specializing in dive trips to the Blue Hole and Half Moon Caye in Lighthouse Atoll, and the Calabash Caye and Virgin Corals of Turneffe Atoll. Divers will be dazzled by the Belize marine life.

Local Diving - The Barrier Reef

Start your day with a two tank local dive! Conveniently The Barrier Reef is just about 5-10 minutes away from our dive center, where you will experience some great diving. Amigos del Mar provides a convenient complimentary pick-up at most hotel/resort docks. Once you've checked in our experienced dive masters will help you set up your gear. Once on board one of our dive masters will provide you with a briefing of the dive site, upon completion you will be assisted with your gear in preparation for the dive.

All our dives are drift dives, not of strong current, but the dive is planned as a multi-level to extend the bottom time. This is where you can enjoy your dive gliding above the incredible finger canon formations. The reef has an abundance of marine life that divers love as the fish are friendly and the terrain is a joy and wonder to navigate. After your first dive, you are transported to the dive center where you can enjoy a fresh water rinse, fruits and relax for the one-hour surface interval.

Hol Chan Marine Reserve & Shark Ray Alley

After hotel pickup in Ambergris Caye, step aboard a motorboat for a 4-mile (6.4-kilometer), 10-minute ride to Hol Chan Marine Reserve (Maya for Little Channel), the first marine reserve established in Central America.

Explore the shallow reef of this channel as you snorkel the crystalline waters of the Caribbean. Since the area has protected status and three ecological zones, youll find healthy coral and sea-grass beds supporting 160 different species of fish, including large schools of reef fish like groupers, jacks and snappers.

Next, head south to your second snorkel stop, Shark Ray Alley, where youll see stingrays softly fanning the water with their 2- to 4-foot (.6- to 1.2-meter) wingspans. Watch the curious but gentle brown nurse sharks swim below! After your encounter with these amazing creatures of the sea, youll hop back aboard the boat and return to your hotel.

Night Dives - Hol Chan Marine Reserve

It's not just diving, it's night diving. TURN ON THE NIGHT LIGHTS! And come aboard for another "must see to believe" and "not to be missed" dive. Discover the nightlife under the sea as you have never seen it before.

These are also available upon request. Night dives are an amazing experience and take place at the world famous Hol Chan Marine Reserve. It's a unique and protected area with spectacular marine life.

Daily Snorkel Trip

The snorkeling sites visited by Amigos Del Mar are in abundant with sea life; the currents are not strong, great visibility through the water and are habitats for colorful corals and fishes. Several different snorkeling trips are offered on a daily basis. There are daily runs at 9:00 am to 4:00 pm for an all-day trip to Caye Caulker and from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm to The Blue Hole. There are also quick trips of 2-1/2 hours twice a day, first at 9:00 am and then at 2:00 pm to Hol Chan, Shark Ray Alley or Mexico Rocks.
